Question Blocked sites or something...

A few weeks ago I was using a shareware program to block pop up ads. I didn't like it and uninstalled it. Now whenever I try to use things like Yahoo Maps and try to use the zone feature, I get an error message.

At one time, I saw something in XP that had a list of sites that I had blocked. I had to find it because I had accidently blocked EBOnline and needed to unblock it. Now I cant seems to figure out how I did this.

If this makes any sense to anyone, your help will be greatly appreciated.

If you are using IE 6 browser, you can go to the "tools" tab - options - security - restricted sites. You can see there if any sites have been restricted and check your security settings as well for the different site classifications. The block program you had installed may have altered the settings. If in doubt reset everything to "default". Also, check your firewall for blocked sites and allow the ones you want.

That's bang-on Beeboy. The only other suggestion would be cookies.

Angry

Thank you guys but I already did that stuff and it didnt work. That's why I came here. I also get this error when I use Yahoo search and click on one of the results.

This is a copy of what it says

Internet Explorer returns an error on the address you just entered or clicked

This could be caused by:
The Web site you are looking for may be temporarily unavailable.

Your Web connection was temporarily slow because of the traffic.

You may have entered the address incorrectly.

The site may no longer exist.

You can either click Go to try the web address again, or
correct the address if it is misspelled and then click Go:

Or, enter the CommonName you wish to visit and click Go:

Other possible causes are:
Some sites require 128-bit connection security. Click the Help
menu and then click About Internet Explorer to determine
what strength security you have installed.
If you are trying to reach a secure site, make sure your Security
settings can support it. Click the Tools menu, and then click
Internet Options. On the Advanced tab, scroll to the Security
section and check settings for SSL 2.0, SSL 3.0, TLS 1.0, PCT 1.0.

Vampyre - I have the same problem - it happens when ever I try to access Yahoo Games. I did everything Yahoo recommends in their help section, as well as what everyone else here has said.
The problem persists.

The only difference is the error I get says:

The page cannot be found

The page you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.

Please try the following:

If you typed the page address in the Address bar, make sure that it is spelled correctly.

Open the rd.yahoo.com home page, and then look for links to the information you want.
Click the Back button to try another link.
HTTP 404 - File not found
