Cannot network computers
I have a Linksys wireless router, 2 desktops on wired connections, and a laptop on a wireless connection. At one time, all three computers were adequately networked, I had shared the root of all hard drives, and I could usually access all the drives from all the computers. (There were a few files that would say "permission denied" but I could at least copy them to the host computer I wanted to use them on.)
Over time, the computers stopped being able to communicate with each other. I had to reinitialize one of the desktops, and will have to reinitialize the other. I am reasonbly sure that all three are properly connected to the router, as I can get to the internet from 2 of them and the third (one of the desktops) cannot connect to the internet at all (that is why I am going to have to reinitialize it).
I have run the Network Setup Wizard, making sure to give all computers the same workgroup name. At first I was calling the netword "Hank" (my name) but every time I ran it, it would come up as "MSHOME" so I left it at MSHOME.
At one point the laptop could see one of the desktops, but then I ran the Network Setup Wizard on the desktop and changed the computer name, and it no longer sees it.
In short:
I ran the NSW on all 3 comptuers and they were working fine
They stopped working, I have run it on all 3, and now it works only sporadically on some computers
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
