OMG i can't update my video driver

i have ati radeon ddr vivo 64 meg i am trying to update to lateset drivers i try to install then it tells me to restart when i come back to windows the driver is the same and nothing changed i uninstall driver and thenr estart an gay xp installs the same driver agin i want to turn off the auto hardware install and install the new drivers plz help

It sounds like the driver version you are installing is the same that is in XP. If the autoupdate feature is on, Windows Update may have downloaded it automatically.

Double check the version you downloaded with the version that is in XP.

If you want to force a drive on a piece of hardware. Open Device Manager/Right click the card/Update Driver/Install from a specific.../Don't search I will choos the..../Have Disk

Then browse to where you have the driver.

no it is wrong version and i did that and it will still not updats it says its from 2002 but tehre is one that is from jan10,2003 that i want to install and it waon't let me install it
