Angry Computer completely frozen!!!

my brother was playing a game on the computer (DX Ball) and the computer froze...after getting out of the game, the computer completely froze up, even after we restarted the computer, we can't access anything, it just stays on the screen with all the accounts...the mouse is not responding either! sounds like a hardware issue. Try unplugging the keyboard and mouse both and booting without them. I have seen a bad mouse cause a computer to freeze.
