if i understood u right and correct me if i'm wrong...
you have "installed" winxp using your win98 to another partition which is drive D:?
-if that's the case then you will have a dual-boot system wherein you can choose what OS to use at boot through xp's boot loader.
- OR -
you "WANT" to install winxp using your win98?
- if that's the case you can simply click INSTALL WINDOWS XP after the autorun feature of the xp cd, then on the pull-down menu choose "CLEAN INSTALL" so you will have the option of changing your drives format to NTFS. in that process you are installing over win98 and you'll have a single OS installed.
- OR -
you had installed winxp on drive D: and you dont want the win98 anymore?
-if that's the case you need to set the active partition to D: for it to boot there. but this is kinda rare.
now which is which?
