I'm running windows XP home, and when i try to do anything in a folder that is showing the thumbnails or filmstrip it freezes up... The scroll bar works fine, and the menu bar, the file menu and all of the other menus go blue but they dont expand... I cant select anything so i cant edit the .bat file i need to edit, or even execute it (i can open it w/ notepad OK, but i cant execute it in dos, i put in the location and it says couldnt recognize C:\Documents (since thats the fist part of the location) as a command or sth)
i have a 2.4 ghz (1mb or 512 kb L2 cache, i cant remember) P4 computer with 512 mb ddr ram, SP2, windows xp home edition (2002) and i think the gfx card is a ge force 4 on an 8x agp socket, but i'm not sure, could be 4x... there are 2 hdds, 1 is an 80GB western Digital, 2mb cache i think, and 7200 rpms, I installed another hdd, its a 160 western digital, 8mb cache, 7200 rpms. My dad wont let me put the OS on the 160 gb so its running as a slave drive now, and the other one (80) as master...
it works fine on windows that show only icons, but it cant handle thumbnails or filmstrips

how do i fix it?
