Question Install Win XP on laptop

I have Win XP installed on my PC and Win 98SE on my laptop. I would like to upgrade the laptop to XP. Somewhere I read that I can use my existing copy of XP and it's license to install on one other computer, but it must be a laptop only, and that there is no additional charge to install on the laptop. Does anyone know if this is correct? I'm anxious to get on with the installation and will pay for it if necessary but sure would like to NOT pay if I can avoid it legitimately.
Thanks,
Geri
