XP graphics driver problem

Hi,

I've recently reinstalled windows XP on my Dell because of virus damage, and after two attempts still had a problem that I could only get minimum resolution (16 bit).

In my frustration I was having a fiddle round with my display settings and somewhere either on the monitor or adapters menu I changed something (can't now remember what) from 'Start' to 'Stop' at which point my PC locked up.

Now if it boots up normally, the screen goes blank before it gets to the XP desktop - so I can't now change the settings back.

I've tried starting up in safe mode, but get a fatal error every time.

Can someone help ? I' don't mind if I have to re-install XP again, but I can't get into it to do it !

Many thanks,

Did you ever find a solution to this problem because I just did the same thing? Thanks.
