*img extension and defrag

I am trying to defrag my main hard drive. It will not let me defrag Files that are in windows temp and document file. This is using up quite a few megabyte on this drive. Is their a solution.

I went through that this morning cause my cable service was out. Shut down all programs including firewall and antivirus, and after 2 or 3 defrags everything was done. That was with xps defragger.

Are you saying that if I keep defraging that it will eventually fix the *.Img files.
