Set a System Restore Point before installing driver just in case
These are the driver downloads for the iMedia M series, the audio is SigmaTel
your board is an SiS chipset as shown by Belarc, and so is the M series
http://www.packardbell.co.nz/support/download.asp?CID=9
Follow this path
In Product Category - Desktop / Model Series - iMedia / iMedia M Series and there are your drivers. The site I use is Packard Bell New Zealand easier to navigate.
Hope this helps

This is what I want you to copy and paste into the post from Belarc
Operating System System Model
Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2 (build 2600) Packard Bell NEC P020199159
System Serial Number: 2607377070
Chassis Serial Number: 50424E
Enclosure Type: Desktop
Processor a Main Circuit Board b
2.80 gigahertz Intel Pentium 4
8 kilobyte primary memory cache
512 kilobyte secondary memory cache Board: NEC COMPUTERS INTERNATIONAL GA-8SIMLNF 1.x
Bus Clock: 100 megahertz
BIOS: American Megatrends Inc. 1.0v 11/26/2003
Drives Memory Modules c,d
81.95 Gigabytes Usable Hard Drive Capacity
74.77 Gigabytes Hard Drive Free Space
the clues to what model and motherboard you are useing are there.I have underlined them to show how I found drivers for this particular computer, but if you have a Dell or Hewellet Packard or Packard Bell or another of the big Computer makers we can usally get drivers from them, if you know the make and model number. These are usally on a sticker at the back ot the tower. Hope this makes it clearer.
Cheers

A couple of makers have that reference to that motherboard, and it appears that the audio is an ALC, try this driver from Realtek
Set a System Restore Point before installing driver just in case
Download the A3.89 - 2006/06/07 17737k it's the (Ececution file) choose Go on one of the 3 download sites. They can be slow. Save to desktop and double click to install and follow on screen instructions.

Hope this helps

Help
My sound doesn't happen to work either. In the "Add Hardware" window, Multimedia Audio Controller has a question mark next to it. I scan the computer for the files but the computer can't find the install files. Can anyone help?

Need more information, what make amd model is your computer, if you are not sure then get Belarc Advisor ( free ) then copy and paste the report, but not the Software License section. http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html
Hope this helps
