I need help fixing sound controller too, I get the yellow question mark too..it was working fine before, but my computer crashed and i reformatted everything and reinstalled windows xp home edition. and just today i installed Sp2 for it..im no sure what to do..heres my info bookworm, hopfully u can help me..

first install Chipset - install then RESTART your comp

Set a System Restore Point before installing EACH drivers just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore – click radio button Create a restore point and follow instructions

HEY WHAT THE HECK??
I installed the chipset and rebooted..The computer managed to boot into the system, but it told me that the system had encountered a "blue screen error" and that I should use system restore...Its a good thing that I created a system restore point BEFORE i did that , thanks for the advice but i think im going to have to find another solution to this cuz CHipset aint workin :[

Need more info, make ,model or motherboard if not sure get Belarc, copy and paste the report but leave out the win update section and the Software Licence section it gives your Win Product code

i tried the Product Identification again, the information bar disappeard and also on the page where it's checking my computer i get this message : "Please install our ActiveX component for auto-detecting your chipset model.", i press ok and that's it.
