This is the link to your MoBo drivers,, audio is C-Media http://www.pcchips.com.tw/PCCWeb/Dow...uID=35&LanID=0

this is how to install
Installing Drivers

Create a folder for what you are downloading

Example: Audio
Then download the zipped file to that folder

Then download and install Winzip
Go to the folder and right click and click Winzip extract to here

That will automatically make a folder and unzip files to it ( make a note of file path)

Then go to folder and click on Setup file and follow instructions displayed for installation

If no Setup file

1. Expand "Sound, video and game controllers"
2. Right-click the the yellow flagged device and choose Update Driver
3. In Windows XP SP2, the Update Wizard will prompt to connect to the Windows Update
4. Select "No, not this time" and click Next
5. Select "Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)" and click Next.
6. Select "Search for the best driver in theses locations" and check "Include this location in the search"
7. Click Browse and select the the location of downloaded driver
8. Click OK and click Next
9. Wait while the Wizard installs the software
10. Click Finish.

Set a System Restore Point before installing just in case

Exclamation hey there!

hi bookworm, im having a problem with my sound and stuff as well.. i've gone about a week with this problem, and im in dire need of some music .. so anyways; in device manager, i have an exclamation point by the Multimedia Audio Controller and my sound blaster 16 or awe32 or compatible wdm, which both also have "(Code 10)" next to them.. I have looked this up in troubleshooting a few times and tried uninstalling and reinstalling a few times.. but i still cant figure it out, i have tried almost everything possible, i see other members here with the same problems.. what can i do to get your help? and also, when i try to play something in Winamp or any music player, and error pops up and says something like "Bad DirectSound driver. Please install proper drivers or select another device in configuration. Error Code:8878000A." (that error message is from winamp)

CAN YOU HELP ME?

I have already downloaded Belarc, but im not sure what you need.. so when you get back to me, i hope you can help .

See post below, thats the section of belarc I need, check this out to see if Soundblaster is the default audio

Go to Control Panel / Sound & Audio Devices / Sound Playback – click on down arrow and check that the correct audio is selected. Typically the problem will be something “modem line 0 playback” has been substituted for the correct audio device.

That appears to be a Creative audio driver, if sound is now working, then it appears that is the correct driver

This way
To display the volume control icon in the notification area
1. Open Sounds and Audio in Control Panel.
2. On the Volume tab, under Device volume, select the Place Volume icon in the taskbar notification area check box.
Notes
• To open Sounds and Audio Devices, click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Sounds and Audio Devices.
• If your sound card volume can be changed using software, a speaker icon appears in the Notification Area. You can change the volume by clicking the icon and adjusting the slider.
