Go here to Via and install the Via 4 in 1 chipset driver, instructions are shown on how to install. Then install the audio driver again

SET A SYSTEM RESTORE POINT BEFORE INSTALLING JUST IN CASE
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore / select Create a restore point and follow instructions

Check this for me IMPORTANT are your audio plugs on the I/O plate as in this example, he's pointing to the I/O plate, this is where keyboard, mouse sockets are http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQzgQ39ovZY
if they are then it's into the BIOS to check that onboard sound is enabled, I'll explain it to you

Hi my sound had also recently died out on me. I had taken apart one of my older computers and changed the Hard drives around, for personal and most beneficial reasons. However ever since then (I've reformatted mind you =P) the sound is anything BUT sound.
Could you possibly point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance.
P.S: Sorry for my lack of knowledge in computers, otherwise I would of posted a list of my Hardware and other sorts; sadly I don't know where to look for that information.

Get Belarc, copy and paste the report, omit the Software section, it gives Product Codes for your OS and the Windows Critical Updates.
