Xp Professional, access admistrator settings?

I recieved a computer from a sold business and it was hooked up to a network. On this computer i cannot install anything delete or change any user settings because it says that it needs to be set to adminstrator, i know all the passwords neccessary but cannot figure out how to log in as an administrator, or get rid of network setting at all so if you could offer assistants that would be great.

i just tryied it and it will not log me in. in safe mode

What are the use of your passwords then? What are they for?

like i can get on windows when its not in safe mode but when it is it says all over my passwords are incorrect
