Hmmmmmmmm... File Access Problem

The PC was turned off incorrectly on one occasion, and then when I next loaded the PC up, and logged in to Windows XP using the one and only screen name, all of the documents in the My Documents folder had disappeared.

The documents are still there, because the hard drive space is taken up, but I cannot get to them.

Another thing that has changed too is the address line for My Documents

It now reads

"C:\Documents and Settings\Default.OEMCOMPUTER\My Documents"

Instead of the previous

C:\Documents and Settings\*username*\My Documents

I tried manually entering the old address, but to no avail, so I'm a little at my wits end since there are some documents that it would be rather useful to retrieve

Go to start -> Search.....

Search for one of the doc titles and then, right click and place a shortcut on you desktop...
