keyboard error/freezing

Hello
i have recently returned off a 4 day holiday to wales, only to return to a broken computer.

When my computer is turned on, everything works fine except when these letters are pressed on the keyboard, functions start happening???

L= log off
R= run
E= explorer
U= utility manager, narrator
D= desktop
F= find/search
i still do not know what B does, but it doesnt type the letter
M= minmise

This is a major annoyance, as i frequently chat on msn and play games using the keyboard. To enter this post i had to go onto my laptop, and it is my first post so i am sorry if it is lacking detail.

I am running windows xp service pack 2.

P.S when i hold shift all the letters work fine?????
Any help will be appreciated
Cheers
Bwaznage

I totally agree with radspanner.. most of the keys you have listed are assigned as shortcut keys that work when pressed in conjunction with the "windows" button. it will be the button right between the ctrl and the alt button.

You may think i am crazy but this will probably fix your problem....

Pick keyboard up about 6-8 inches off of your desk surface. turn the keyboard upside down and drop it. Dont slam it down or anything extreme but the jar from a fall of about 6-8 inches should loosen stuck keys. another thing you may want to do is buy a can of air. anywhere that sells electronics should have it.... and blow your keyboard out.
