Need Help - XP / IE error (Not a virus)

Hello everyone! I am hoping I can find someone else who has had this issue or someone who can help me.

The other day, IE 6 started to sit and load without anything ever showing in the page.

No errors, no text, just a blank page and the icon would sit and turn as if loading.

It would only do this 1 out of every 8-10 times I opened IE (Version 6).

I downloaded IE Beta 7 and same thing.

Firefox works fine by the way.

After 3 days, IE stopped showing any pages and just sat and acted as if it were loading but nothing would show except a blank page.

This is a new system so I just formatted and reinstalled Windows XP Home SP2.

Everything once again worked fine until today it started the same thing again.

I run a small business and my online accounting program will not mesh with Firefox so this is a severe issue for me.

I just upgraded to IE 7 Beta again to check and it does the same thing.

On the 4th reboot, it worked for a few minutes and then stopped again.

My system is:

AMD Athlon 3800+ Dual Core CPU
Gigabyte GA-M55SLI-S4 Mobo (NForce4 Chipset)
2 Gigs (2x1GB) of G-Skill PC533 DDR2
GForce 7600 PCIE (16X) 256 DDR2 Video
320 Gig Seagate SATA
Creative Audigy 2 ZS sound card

Installed:

Windows XP Home SP2
Windows Office XP
AVG Anti-Virus
Zone Alarm (free version)
Norton Systemworks 2002 (Only use Windoctor and Speed Disk - Nothing running in background)
Firefox

All Windows updates are done.

I thought that Zone Alarm may have caused it but I have uninstalled it with no luck.

No other errors of any kind on the system.

Network is NForce 100MB LAN (On board) running into a Linksys Wireless router which in turn is fed by Direcway Satellite High Speed Internet.

I don't even know where to start to troubleshoot this, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

One way to repair IE is to use the System File Checker tool to scan all of the protected files on your computer:
a. Click Start, and then click Run.
b. In the Open box, type sfc /scannow, and then click OK.

Other ways to repair IE is in the link below;

Hope this helps.
