XP Pro Weird Pemission Issue

I have a XP Pro box that was upgraded from XP Home. The issue I ran into now is that there are certain permission issue with it, the user have admin
rights to the box but it's keep saying that in VB6 SP5 that the user don't
have access to the registry. I know with XP Home, you cannot name the
computer name and login name the same. Since I upgraded to XP Pro, added the box to the domain. The computer name and login are the same for a few days, then the computer name was changed. Has anyone ran into issue like this? Can someone please help?

Thanks for the reply, I went ahead and format the sucker. It has way too much problem with it. It's healthy and up and running smoothly now.

XP Read-Only Issue

Guys:
I let XP lead me the same merry chase everybody takes, setting up file/folder permissions. Then....by dumb luck, found it. Go to Control Panel, select Services. Find Protected Storage. Change it from Automatic to Manual start. Don't disable it. You can now change your folder/file attributes and it sticks.
