Laptop display problems...ARGH!!

I'm running a Toshiba Satellite laptop, recently i've been having this problem. during no particular activity, my screen will start warping a bit, kind of glitching out, random black boxes appear, etc. i'll be able to continue working for a minute or two with this happening, then it'll intensify and totally freeze my machine. i've i hold down the power button to shut it off it will bring up a screen telling me about a failure in my display drivers or something. I'm not sure how to fix this problem, help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

we need more information, what is your make and model of laptop, what make of disply adapter or is it intergrated. Go to Control Panel > double click System > choose Hardware tab > open Device Manager > open Display Adapter > what make > right click > choose Properties > what is driver version.
