Yes, I believe they do have rights to the computer. I even gave all rights to everyone. So, now there are basically no files/folders that even a user can't get into. I gave back all rights again to kinda "start over" again. Hopeing that it would work. It was to no avail, of course. I reinstalled windows XP another hard drive, so I'm just going to pull all of the files I want from that hard drive onto my current newer one. Then, format the older one & use it. When I had users from another computer that was on a network connected to this one, they could get into all of the files with no problem. They were as well basic users. That may not pertain totally to this scenario since their profile is located on a serperate system. But it does tell me that users, if able to get onto my system do have rights to open/run/edit/etc files & folders.
I know it does sound very much like a permissions problem, but where's the root of it all? Somewhere in their, (probably of my own doing) when working with my network I set it in the wrong direction. Or I could have corrupted windows by doing something in error. I generally have had very little problem w/XP & still like it better than all in the past.
If you come up w/some other ideas pass them along my way. I have done extensive reseach to find information on a scenario like this & have found none.
