hi, i just bought this new laptop like 2-3 weeks back. i was having no problems going to websites with embedded videos before.
this problem is not browser specific(i have tested it with iexplorer and firefox).
here is what happens:
1.) I go to a website with streaming videos(ex:
www.ebaumsworld.com)
2.) I click to watch a video
3.) When the video window pops up and starts to load another error window pops up stating the following:
Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
Error signature - AppName: iexplore.exe AppVer: 6.0.2900.2180 ModName: msvcrt.dll
ModVer: 7.0.2600.2180 Offset: 00033869
4.)then when i click ok on the error window, it closes the video and the browser.
I thought i should add that I am currently running Windows XP MCE on my Toshiba Satellite A105-S4134. the crash occurred on both internet explorer and firefox.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling flash player, but still no success. I have tried loading the last known good configuration. I have tried using system restore to restore to the point when i first used the laptop.
Any suggestions/solutions are much appreciated
