Weird Problem With Typing !, letters i type show differently !

i have a weird problem with my laptop, words i type don't show az i typed them.

for example:

Hi = h5
How are you = h6w are y64
pronounciation = -r6n64nc5at556n


it all happened after trying the windows xp "remote assistance" feature with my friend, and i got this problem during the connection, and even restarting the laptop didn't help to fix it !

i gave my friend remote control, he opened my msn 7 window, and clicked on the drawing thingy, but when i clicked on the text typing option, the problem occured, the letters i typed showed differently !

i guess something got messed up....

i'm sure that my friend didn't do anything to cause me this problem, and i can't use restore points cuz the "System Restore" option wasn't enabled before .

btw i'm using windows xp in my laptop and my friend was using a pc with windows xp..


please help me to fix this problem , i have no idea how to deal with it ( i really don't want to format the laptop just cuz of this ! )



ps: just to be more clear, i repeat my friend did NOT do anything to cause me this problem, and i didn't spill anything on my keyboard that caused me this problem..

The keyboard layout may have been changed. Click on the "En" or the small keyboard symbol on the language bar and see if there's another input language you can try.

If not, try installing another input language from the Regional and Language Options in Control Panel (U.S. English, U.K. English etc), to see if the key assignments are restored.

The numlock on your external keyboard is on, this also switches on the numlock on your laptop keyboard. Have a closer look at the "I" key on your laptop...you see the blue 5 ?

We had the same problem after using remote assistance through MSN 8.x
The one asking for assistance used a Benq laptop, and got the typing problem.

The problem is caused because somehow the ' gamerzmode' of the laptop keyboard is activated (see: http://g700.palmoid.com/#5)

Press Ctrl+Fn to activate Gamerz Mode. Press and shift key (Shift/Ctrl/Fn) to exit Gamerz Mode.

Also try Ctr+Numlock or Ctr+Shift+Numlock if above didnt work.
Otherwise read your manual for further information about keyboard layouts and Fn key ...
