Dumped Linux, looking forward to Longhorn - questions.

After over a year of using Linux, and realizing that multimedia in the world of Linux is a joke, I decided to rejoin the dark side ;-) After seeing Mediaplayer 10, I realized that perhaps Microsoft does indeed care about its users . . . even if just a bit. Hehe . . .

So, my questions have to do with Longhorn - specifically, the newest (4074) build. I understand that this build is availble for download from Microsoft if you have an MSDN subscription. My questions are:

1.) Can anyone (who pays) get an MSDN subscription?

2.) Is the newst build of Longhorn really available for donwload, complete with all the features implemented thus far?

3.) Will this current build of Lognhorn simply update your XP installation, or do you have to do a complete reinstall (I don't want to lose my files.)

4.) Have any of you used this build of Longhorn? If so, how usable is it? Do you like it so far?

Thanks,

-Christian.

EDIT:::::::: I just realized I posted in the wrong section (I think.) Would a mod please move it? Apologies.

1) Yes. As long as you have a valid credit card, MS will sell you a MSDN subscription.

2) Yes. But don't take my word for it. You don't even know me. Research it yourself before spending THAT MUCH MONEY.

3) You can do either. However, Longhorn is very experimental right now. If you don't want to lose your files, it's best not to go playing around with an O/S that is at least a year away from being released to the public.

4) Haven't used it yet.

Good Luck. Backup Your Files!
