Please Need help desperately

Hello,
I have been getting this message when I start up XP that the system will shut down in 1 min and counts down. It then restarts and the same thing happened. It said there was a problem with a file named lsass.exe...I searched for it....Deleted it...
Now when I turn on the comp it goes past the xp screen, loads, then comes up to a blank screen with absolutely nothing but the pointer...tried safe mode nothing works....I have a file on their due tomorrow that I really need, im screwed....Can someone please Help I would really appreciate it....Thanks again

quickest of fixing that is to through the XP CD in the drive and do a repair-Install.... I hope you have the XP cd.

PS. if you JUST need to pull a file from the drive then I would suggest to get a copy of NTFS boot disk or CD from here and access the drive for your file.
