WMP 9 is awesome...from what I can see..

Today, I tried getting Windows Media Player 9. I forgot all about it until I saw it on a banner ad today. I download it and open it up. It looks awesome. (Little changes and anything different in something like this pleases me as you can see.) I try to play a song..............What happens? The scroll bar slides down the list-I guess scanning the songs-It says, Windows Media Player has encountered an unknown error. I click on "Web Help". What web help it was. It said no more support can be give on this problem at this time, or something like that... Can someone please give me advice. I already tried converting them to WMA files, it didnt work either. Thanks for the help.

did you check your device manager? look for any exclamation points or red x's. last year when i upgraded my windows me's version to WMP 8, i had a problem with my onboard sound. it would say that there was no sound hardware present, or it was not working correctly. i uninstalled and reinstalled 2 or 3 times and it went away.

aha!!! have you tried re-ripping the songs? WMP9 is a pain in the rear when it comes to licenses for media. you will get a new license when you rip the media again.
