Hooking up a wireless router in safe mode??

Hi--I have an ancient desktop that only works in safe mode, but has a working high-speed cable internet connection. I'd like to get a wireless router so that I can use my laptop to get on the internet, but I'm not sure if being in safe mode will prevent me from getting the router to work. Does being in safe mode on my desktop mean I can't set up a wireless connection for my laptop (which is not in safe mode)?

Any help would be appreciated!!! I just don't want to buy a router and then have to take it back if I can help it. Thanks!

If you do get the router, you can forget about the old desktop.

Just hook up the high speed internet device to the router, and configure the router from your Laptop, as per the instructions in the manual.

Of course you could also just plug the high speed internet to the laptop.

IF you really wan't both to have internet, i suggest you reintall the desktop. So it cna owrk in normal mode as opposed to safe mode.
