no right mouse on desktop

Hi Guys

Iīm trying to repair a very F#cked up pc. i removed over 600 infected files, and spyware. i am nearing the end of my struggle, but i still have one problem. on the desktop screen my right mousebutton is not functioning. so i cannot select new, and properties, and stuff. but itīs only on the desktop. taskbar works, and in programs it works aswell. i have andminrights and didnīt change anything. if itīs a virus, i really donīt know how to fix it cause iīve ran so many scans on so many different spyware-virus scanners. from norton to microsofts antivirus and all the way back.

it is a windows xp Home system, on a dell 4600 computer... so now you think why not format, well my dear friend(owner of this pc) lost his recovery cd

any help is appreceated

tnx

Joost

I wish I could help with the whole right-click thing, but I would say reformat. I'm pretty sure you can install windows on a Dell without their reinstall CD. I would just make sure you go out and get all the latest updates for the hardware like drivers and stuff. You should be able to do it all. You can just go to their site and get all the drivers and stuff.

Edit: Oh, and one more thing. If worse comes to worse, Dell might even send you a new restore CD.
