Read Only Issues

Hi all,
Whenever I copy files to cd from HD these files are read only. As i want to transfer them from work to home to work on them this is a pain. How can i stop it?

No doubt your aware they are tagged 'read only' because the are from a cd, and windows can't save edits to files on a cd which is also read-only --- consequently the copies are read-only as well. I don't know of a way to 'bypass' this behaviour, but are you also aware that you can change the properties of several files all at the same time? Just highlight all the read-only files, right-click to get properties - then untick 'read only' and click OK.

there is another way highlight the read only files select copy open word and paste you can the work on them you can then save as whatever name you want to give them.
