Missing Files in Slave Hard Drive

I need help to find my missing files in my slave hard drive.
I set up a 152 GB Maxtor hard drive as a slave for my Windows XP Pro, and I have used 151 GB to store my files. But for unknown reason, some of my files went hidden. When I highlight all of the folders and used Properties to check the total size, it tells me 147 GB, but when I check the available space using the Hard Drive's Properties, I got 847 MB. So about 4 GB of my files were not shown. I disabled hidden files, took ownership of the drive, disabled the indexing service, but none of them worked. (I don't know if I explained my problem well enough, please ask any question about my problem)
Please help me!!!

A few tools to help restore corrupt files.

Start - Run - Type - command - press enter key or Go - Type - chkdsk/F
Enter - Select Y for yes and Restart your PC

The second thing to try is -
Start - Run - type - sfc /scannow - OK
Don't forget the space between c and /

And the third thing: it needs to back up not to lose information

For example I use True Image for that.
