drwatson error help

If anyone can help me with this drwatson error thing that would be great.

When I open up my 'My Video' folder (I have several video clips and movies in there) I keep getting this error staying that there's an error with Drwatson. And a did a bit of research on google to see what it was -- turns out its an error reporting system or something along the lines of that that window's has created. (drwtsn32.exe)

Quite interesting.. so every time I open my 'My Video' folder I probably have like 5 seconds top before I get that error. I was wondering if there's anything wrong with the folder... or if theres any way I can stop the error-ing.

I've tried turning it off but the folder continues to crash -- I just don't get the message popup.

-- I've also tried booting it in safe-mode and checking, I still can't last 5 seconds in the folder w/o it crashing --

If any one can help, that would be great.

-Thanks

This is what I have on Dr Watson read this and you might find something you have disabled you should not have done, as Dr Watson only work if haveturned from windows error reporting.

In previous versions of Windows, a diagnostic tool with the colourful name of Dr. watson for windows was enabled by default. Dr Watson, generated various kinds of crash dump files in the event of application errors. The doctor plays this role no longer, at least by default. He is still present in Windows XP,however (%SystemRoot%\System32\Drwtsn32.exe),and he does goback on duty if you disable Windows Error Reporting. If you experience a repeatable application error and you call Microsoft Support Services for help, the technician you talk to might ask that you disable Windows Error which has already happened to you reenact the crash, collect a Dr. Watson log, and upload the log to Microsoft.

They should be able to tell you what to do and the problem.
let us no what outcome is.

Yay, I'm back and error free! Here's to help anyone else who recieves the DRWTSN error.

First I emailed Microsoft telling them about my problem. But when they asked me for my Product ID, it contained OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) in the ID, so they wouldn't/couldn't help me and told me that I would have to contact (Hewlet Packart) my OEM. (because windows XP was installed by them)

Therefore I did. I emailed HP and they replied back with a simple command line for me to type in Start > Run. Here's what they said:

Code:
> I recommend performing the following steps to resolve the issue: > > 1. Click on Start, Run. > 2. Please write the following command in the text box of the appearing > window: > > regsvr32 /u shmedia.dll > > 3. Click "OK" button. > 4. Restart the computer. > > If the issue is not resolved please follow the following steps to undo > the command: > 1. Click on Start, Run. > 2. Please write the following command in the text box of the appearing > window: > > regsvr32 shmedia.dll > > 3. Click "OK" button. > 4. Restart the computer. >

The only loss, was that if you're viewing in thumbnail mode, you will only get Window's Media PLayer icon/logo (or whichever your default media player is). By typing "regsvr32 /u shmedia.dll" its basically disabling that feature which is what's giving me that error.

EDIT: Thanks thedon57 for supplying me the idea to email Microsoft. Or else I would've reformated my computer. Lol.
