Windows XP Networking

Hi.
I aml trying to make a network with my 2 computers :-)
without using a router much to expensive for me i am only a kid lol i already bougt a 20 m crossoverkable and a network card

Host pc's system specs:
Windows XP Professional SP2
Intel Celeron 760 MHz
320 MB Ram 20 GB Hard Disk
Network Card Host Pc : Realtek RTL 8139/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC

second pc:
Windows 2000 Professional SP4
Intel Pentium MMX 233 MHz
80MB Ram 5 Gb Hard Disk
Intel based Network card

when i check the network card's the link led burn on both also the other pc the windows 2000 pc seems to recognise the network
but when i am on the windows xp computer and i try to enable the network card tru connections it says searching network adress and it says it cant be found and the networks has limited or no connection
i remember having this once before and i fixed it by sharing the connection but i cant find the option where i need to enable it :S can someone help me ?

Right click on the drive you want to share or the folder and look for sharing the check to share or not.
