Stuck in safe mode! Selecting normal startup doesnt work!

Hi, I thought I knew a fair deal about pcs, but I am seriously stumped on this one. This is not how I had planned to spend my Saturday! But it needs to be fixed. I did the msconfig thing last night and restarted in diagnostic mode so I could run Adaware which I did, then started the defrag and went to bed. This morning the defrag was done and I went to msconfig and selected Normal startup and restarted but when it restarts none of the usual system tray icons show up, no access to the internet, even the HELP AND SUPPORT program wont load! I get an error saying that a startup service didnt properly load. PLEASE HELP! thanks. J

Hi i found when i ran adaware the same thing happened to me but luckaly i was on hand when my antivirus fashed up that there was a virus or program on the system, that was i to let it run would of wiped my system clean. i uninstalled it and done a systems restore.
Can you uninstall your adaware, if you can you may find you can go back to a date to get your missing files back, and if adaware shows up again then uninstall it.

Also can you get into safe mode by pressing either f5 or f8, then you may be able to find out what programs you have still on there.
