Question XP Install error

I had to install a new mainboard & now I cannot access my HD files. The HD was formatted originally as a NFST drive. If I try to run the XP install cd, I get an error message that windows cannot locate a swap file.

Thanking you in advance! Larry...

Sounds nasty to me. Can u actually boot to the install window? If u can, I would try a repair on XP. If not, it sounds like the ide drivers have gone whack and need to be replaced, as they will almost certainly differ from you original board ones.

If this does not help, it may be a case of formatting.....

.
Make sure your Hard Drive settings are correct in the BIOS prefferences, make sure the IDE cable is plugged into the hard drive the right way, and last, make sure the jumper settings are correct.

I don't see why it would be formatted, but if all is correct then it probally just needs to be fomatted or better yet, the deletion of the partitions and re-creating them.
