problem signing into email

hi, starting yesterday i am able to access the internet but not email or any other site that requires signing in. (i am able to post here because i am on a
different computer) i cannot sign in to my hotmail, my school's webmail, or any other site requiring login. i have norton antivirus and tried disabling it but still nothing. when i do type in my email and password to sign in and i click on sign in it says page cannot be displayed - the page that usually comes up when i cant connect to the internet. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Are you using internet explorer? If so, it's probably just the security settings. I've got something for you to try(if you're using IE 6.0).
In Internet Explorer, go to Tools>Internet Options>click the "Security" tab.
The globe titled "internet" should be selected. If it's not, select it and click the "Custom Level" button, then in the box that comes up, there should be a list toward the bottom with the options of medium, medium-low, and low. Select medium and click "Reset." Click "Ok," then click "Ok" again. Try logging in again.

well, i've got a few other things you could try. i doubt they'll will work, but what've you got to lose?
1. in internet explorer, go to tools>internet options>"privacy" tab. make sure that the slider is set to medium.. or to a setting that wouldn't block all cookies.
if that doesn't work...
2. in internet explorer, go to tools>internet options>"advanced" tab. click the "restore defaults" button at the bottom.

if these don't work, we'll probably have to get one of the more experienced guys.
