video problems

when i try to see a video of any kind the video shows up as if it had the brightness setting really high. it never seems to get fixed. i also installed the latest WMP10 codecs and still nothing. what can i do to fix this. thanks for any responses. and i will check back periodically for any other information you might need.

The problem can be related with video card drivers. Did you update or correctly choose them?

I'm guessing you have Windows XP due to Windows Media Player 10 that you got. So I'm asking what Service Pack do you ahve for that OS? and what kind of video card do you have?
