startup item (msconfig) LGHMALL

I'm helping to set up a family member's out-of-the-box new HP Pavilion laptop. It came with XP installed.

Two questions:
(1) There is an msconfig Startup Item called ' lghmall ' which executes a dialogue-silent command of:
regedit.exe /s \appl.zip\tools\logon\lghmall.reg
The registry location of this command is of course with the other Startup items, in HK_Local_Machine/Software/... where it shows up as an AutoLogon Reg_SZ.

Anyone know what this is?

(2) Should the programs or file folders 'Virtua Cop 2' and 'Virtual Cop 3' be in the Documents and Settings file folder on a brand new installation of XP?

(3) The family member bought this machine in Dubai (United Arab Emirates). It comes with an XP installation CD - are (1) and (2) above signs of a bootlegged CD?

Thanks in advance.

It certainly sounds that way to me.
I would remove the entry and check the system for anything dodgy.

If you have Windows XP CD and some time to invest, get fresh drivers from the manuf. web site and reinstall OS from scratch.
