[DR-DOS] Prompt On Upgrade of XP

Hello,

sorry to start a new thread, but i don't think it is related to my last post.

I'm trying to upgrade from XP home to XP Pro.

When i put in the copy of XP, all works fine...

I choose upgrade and enter my serial number.

Windows then shuts down as prompted...

When the pc re-boots with the cd still in the drive as instructed, the computer loads something called 'Caldera DR-DOS'.

Instead of continuing the installation, i just get a:

[DR-DOS] A:/> prompt.

I can't seem to get the PC off this promt and continue the installation of XP.

I have tried changing my BOOT drive to CD Drive in BIOS but it still goes to this DR-DOS Promt.

I just want it to continue the upgrade of XP!

Any thoughts?

I have done this before on another PC though. Several times.

When i needed IIS Services which only come with XP Pro, I upgraded from Home.

I have got around this problem before, im just not sure how I did it.

Any more thoughts?

A PROMPT IS FLOPPY, IT IS WAITING FOR FILES TO BE DOWNLOADED FROM A FLOPPY.

Caldera is the freeware? DOS. Norton use it for boot disks.

Is the upgrade CD bootable? You should get the "press any key" prompt.
Which seems to suggest a possible restore disk of some sort.

The fact drive "A" is shown means nothing. Floppy emulation on a CD will show the same thing.
