Question Partitions and Windows problem

I'am trying to install a new installation and XP shows one drive with a partition with enough space to install but I select it and the XP caution me of another OS on this drive I've tried to format it but it will not let me. Don't know what to do now. Please help

Sounds like you will have to zero out your hard drive. You can use Kill Disk which is free and can be gotten here http://www.killdisk.com/. Before using make sure you backup any files on cd before using.

You're not going to harm the hard drive in any way, you're just going to make it blank (as if you never had an OS on hard drive) so that you can reinstall XP. As mentioned before backup any files you may want before using Kill Disk.
