simple, download Opera web browser from http://bagofchips.20fr.com/favorite_links.html
Its better than Internet explorer in terms of speed, features and usability.

Dump IE.

Do you have some kind of popup blocking software installed? Another window could be open (check task manager), so the software won't let the new window open because it thinks that it is a popup.

Go to: start/control panel/add & remove programs
find microsoft internet explorer in the list & click on add/remove. Then select "repair internet explorer" & run that. Maybe that will help you. It has helped me in the past.

I've installed Opera, but the memory usage for Opera seem higher than with IE. Before you all scream NNNNOOO, let me explain:

If you open Opera, and then open, say, two more pages using tabbed browsing, then you have one process running using up xx amount of memory for the one process (containing 3 pages).

Now if you open IE once, you have one process running taking up xx amount of memory. Now if you open another IE window from the IE icon, you do indeed get a second instance of the IE process, taking up xx amount of mem also. BUT - if you open a new window by right clicking on a link in IE, and selecting "open in new window", then you get the new IE window, BUT you do not get a seperate IE process, - the memory usage of the first process is increased a little, BUT not as much as if there were two seperate processess running.

Now....3 IE windows opened in this way (resulting in the one IE process) actually take up much LESS memory than the 3 windows opend within one Opera process by doing tabbed browsing.....

Any thoughts on this? - as this would suggest to me that IE is actually more memory friendly than Opera - especially considering ONE window in IE also takes up much less memory than the same single window opened in IE.....

I don't have the exact mem figures at the moment cos I'm at work - sorry!

Feel free to shout at me now....
