Problem Moving Files Help Needed

I just bought a new computer which is running Windows XP Home Edition. I was running one with Windows 98. How can I move photos from Paintshop Pro over from the old computer to the new one? For whatever reason, I can't get the new computer to read the CD's off the old machine. The old machine can read from, but I can't write to the CD's formatted on the new computer. They are not write protected, so that's not the problem, but I know nothing about this stuff to help myself.

Hi there is a way and that is to remove the hard drive from your 98 machine move pins on back of hard you have just removed to set them to slave install this handdrive connect ribbon on spare lug connect power, start up computer and your xp computer should find the drive you have just put in. you can then transfer your photos to new hard drive, either format your old drive and leave it as slave or remove it and put it back in other machine.
