System Performance

Does anyone know where I go to locate the system performance as % free?? I know under previous o/s it used to be under the system properties under the Performance tab, but I am unable to find it for the xp o/s.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

good question. but in xp, microsoft thinks that they have the situation so under control that we need not worry about it anymore. but honestly, xp is a lot better at doling out resources and keeping them inline. so if you are having problems with sluggishness, your best bet is ctrl+alt+del, and go through the tabs. if it is a problem with a process or app that is hogging memory or cpu cycles, it should stand out like a sore thumb, and you might be able to end it or shut the app down. hope this is what you were looking for, even if it ain't what you wanted to hear.

I have found out in the past that we can become a little paranoid worrying about checking our system resources. Unless you are having problems I wouldn't let it bug me too much. But, I agree with you. It is nice to be able sometimes to check, so here are a couple of fine programs that will let you do this.
Just search for Sandra at www.download.com & look at both Sandra & Fresh Diagnose on that page.
