Angry What the heck?

As some of you may know I was having big problems with Windows XP. After speaking with microsoft tech support and trying numerous times to fix everything I decided to try reinstalling windows.

I opened the book I got with my windows xp disk and read that I could upgrade and it would prevent me from losing the files on my C: drive, I thought of it as a repair I suppose. So I did the whole upgrade thing and once it was all finished my computer started rebooting. Just before the part where you would go to the windows login screen a blue screen flashed for under a second and rebooted. Over, and over, and over.

So I decided to try the upgrade again. Same thing happened. I even tried using the windows xp disk that came with the other computer (which is not working also I might add).

I also went into the windows repair and tried running chkdsk and got a message saying something like "The drive contains one or more irrepairable errors."

I then tried to reinstall windows xp completely and it said it couldn't read the CD or it was invalid. I believe that is because the windows xp disks I have are both upgrade disks, not full versions. I don't have any earlier versions of Windows either....

So my question is, what can I do to get my computer running again. Is my hard drive bad? Or can I just reformat it? I'd prefer if I only had to reformat my C: drive but if I have to reformat all of them then I guess that's fine too.

I have found a CD that has the drivers for Windows 95, 98, and NT.
It reads as follows:
"3D Blaster RivatNT 2
This CD-ROM contains the following software:
-Drivers for Windows 95 (DirectDraw, Direct3D, OpenGL)
-Drivers for Windows 98 (DirectDraw, Direct3D, OpenGL)
-Drivers for Windows NT (DirectDraw, OpenGL)
-Enhanced BlasterControl Panel desktop control software
-Colorific and 3Deep"

Is there any way for me to use this CD to install windows? I tried inserting it when it told me that my windows xp upgrade disk was invalid or could not be read and I got the same message.

I was thinking if I could get this to run and install windows 95 or 98 then I could use my windows xp disk to upgrade.

Is this possible?

I also would like to add according to "My Computer"
I had 4 hard drives
C: "OP System"
D: "Games"
E: "Applications"
F: "Storage"

I ran chkdsk on all of them and the only good one was E: or so it says..The rest gave me the "The volumes contains one or more unrecoverable problems"

I don't remember off hand....
How can I get that disk to run with the drivers for windows 98?

It isn't the actual disk to install windows 98 but it has the drivers on it. I think it came with the motherboard.
