Question Keep asking activation when I login

Hi, Everybody,

When I login XP, it says I need activation XP before login.
I pressed YES, next window says you already activated, in fact I do activate, or pressed NO, then logoff. Never get into XP.
And I keep press user icon to login XP, it repeat again. I can enter XP by safe mode.

OS: Windows XP Pro.
Hardware: P4 1.7GHz, 512 Mb Ram, 160GB Hard Drive

Please help.
Thanks lot.

If you have an activation issue , I suggest that you call Microsoft and explain the problem. It's probably in your best interests to clear it up rather than looking for a work-around. Microsoft is aware of this happening with XP Media Edition, but I've never heard of it with XP Pro.

If you have activated in the past there is a backup file for it.

Boot into Safe Mode and open C:\windows\system32.
Look for WPA.DBL and WPA.BAK.

Rename WPA.DBL to WPA.OLD
And rename WPA.BAK to WPA.DBL. Then reboot and test.

This will only work if you have successfully activated in the past.

Another thing to try is on the Advanced Boot Menu, the one with Safe Mode, chose Enable VGA Mode, and then try to Activate.

If they do not work put your XP CD in in Safe Mode and reinstall.
Al your files and applications will stay as i.
