Need a Way to Log Programs/Services being used

My Dell, P4, 1GB RAM running XP Home freezes for about 2 seconds every 10 minutes or so. Are there any tools I can use to see what programs or services are running and what resources they are using?

Thanks.

Run Hijackthis. It'll tell you exactly whats running on your machine at any given time.

HijackThis

Alternatively, just use CTRL+ALT+DEL and select 'processes' to see what programs are running and what memory they are consuming.

Thanks for the reply, but I'm looking for some kind of constant monitoring because the "freeze" only lasts for a couple of seconds. I'm not even sure if it IS a program that is causing the freeze, but I need to start somewhere.

So, why don’t you start from posting your Hijackthis log?
If you are suspecting hardware problem, use Dell hardware diagnostics (if don't have the CD, get it from their website).

P.S. Check the Event Log for related errors/events.

The Event Log showed no errors.
