question concerning wmp 10 playlists

in my playlist, how do i make it display the filename instead of the title of the song? i want to do this so i can 'sort by artist name' and it will look neat and organized

Open the Playlist above the list of songs you'll see the name of the playlist. Click on it and you'll see "Sort >" hover over it and you'll see "By Artist" Click on that to sort them by Artist.

That will only work if you've got the Album Info for every song though.

I hope that helps, though I don't know how to do exactly what you asked for.

yeah thanks, but maybe i didnt explain enough

when i sort by artist, it does it, but it wont show the artist, so i just see a bunch of different song titles which look all mixed up, unless i've memorized which artist wrote which song, which for some i havent :/. i thoguht it was possible cause when wmp first loads, it displayed artist/title (which happens to be the filename), then reverts to just song title...

as i was writing this i decided to see if i could add the artist name to the album info, but it turns out when i go to properties of a song, that portion is greyed out...

i guess i could add the artist name and song title under the song title heading.... but that would take me a few tedious hours lol...

anyone have any ideas?
