cable modem

If I have a cable modem is there a way to tweak the settings to make the internet run faster?

I have heard there are ways to "unlock" your cable modem, or "uncap" it's speed, but I think it's all hype. I don't think there's much you can do. But if you want to check it out, do a google on unlock or uncap with cable modems. Let me know what you find out!
