Trying to install over Linux

I installed Linux over my windows system to try it out for a bit but I've found that it is not completely suitable for my needs and I'd like to put Windows back on. However, upon booting from my Windows Professional disc, I am told that setup is checking hardware configuration and then the screen goes blank without any allowance for interaction. What on Earth could be wrong? Should I perhaps wipe the hard drive first? If so, how can I do that from this stage?

When you say booting, do you have the bios set to boot from the cd 1st?

If so, set it to boot from the floppy 1st & use a boot disk & run fdisk, delete partitions, repatition, reboot & format.
A W95 boot disk is fine.

Boot disk's.

Thanks, I managed to find a WinXP Home CD and for some reason that worked, and I just installed Professional over it. Cheers.
