strange drive problem

Hi, My brother-in-law has a newly built pc which includes a dvd-rw and a dvd rom, sometimes when he install a DVD or CD game it all goes ok (installation) but when he comes to playing the game it asks him to insert the disc although the disc is in the drive still..it does this for both of the drives (hes tried installing the games in both drives too). has anyone got any ideas why this is happening?, any help would be much appreciated. jayjay76

Hi ... When that happen again can you do the following

1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
2. If Control Panel is in Category view, click Performance and Maintenance, and then click System.

If Control Panel is in Classic view, double-click System.
3. On the Hardware tab, click Device Manager.
4. Click the drive with the question mark next to it.
5. On the Action menu, click Uninstall. When you are prompted to confirm the removal, click OK.
6. Repeat steps 4 through 5 for any other drives with question marks.
7. On the Action menu, click Scan for hardware changes.


Also when you are viewing the devise manager area see if you notice any yellow exclamation mark
