Exclamation Xp Install Problem

When I try to load Windows XP SP2 on freshly built Pentium 4 machine at the copy files screen in setup i continuously get the "setup cannot copy files" error. Also each time the files that canot be copied are different. I tried pressing escape through all the files until the end but then the computer wont boot. There is two mirrored 80gig sata drives attached to a raid controller, which have been built correctly and the proper drivers loaded. They are detected in the boot up screens and can be formatted from windows before the copy files screen. Ive tried just using an IDE drive and a different windows cd and cdrom drive and got the same error, and, tried using a Windows 2000 cd and got the same error. Any suggestions on how to resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated.

1. Have you checked your BIOS to make sure your hardware is setup correctly? Make sure the SATA is enabled in the BIOS. If it is enabled you should get a SATA RAID setup screen as the computer starts up. Follow the instructions to enter the configuration, and setup your raid before you install windows.

2. Did you make a floppy disk for your Sata drivers?, you will need to to Press F6 during Windows install to load them. If you are using an earlier version of windows XP with a service pack 2 update CD, you might consider doing this....

Slipstreaming Windows XP Service Pack 2 and Create Bootable CD
To streamline the process.

I completed both of those steps numerous times. I even tried different drivers and loaded them off of a floppy after pressing f6. However the drives are detected as a raid in the boot up screens so im pretty sure they are configured correctly. But i will check the settings in the bios and try again. thanks for the suggestions.

Slow the machine down via the bios settings. Reduce the amount of ram available if possible.
