Do you receive the message when trying to access the shared folder on each computer or you can't open any shared folders at all?
I had a similar problem, but it occured because I had an extra protocol (netbios) on the computer on which I could not access files. The only protocols that I have enabled are:
Client for Microsoft Networks
File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks
QoS Packet Scheduler
Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
Try enabling only these protocols, restart your computer, and test your configuration.
Another problem I had was that if I was logged in under "user1", and I tried to set a shared folder under "c:\documents and settings\user2", access would be denied to it. The only way to fix that is to log on as user2 and then share the folder.
Good luck!
